How to play

  1. Raid the bins. Stand next to a trash can and Mitts rummages through it. Every item goes in the sack, and every item slows him down.
  2. Get home. Carry the sack to the storm drain to bank it. Only banked loot counts.
  3. Be greedy, carefully. Each extra item in one trip adds a greed bonus (+15% an item), and a trip nobody noticed is a ghost trip (+25%). The fuller the sack, the fatter Mitts gets.
  4. Stay out of the light. Homeowners sweep flashlights. Walls block the light, bushes hide you, and noise makes them turn. Sneak to be quieter.
  5. Let sleeping dogs lie. From the second neighborhood, dogs on leashes wake to noise, chase you and bark, and their barking brings the homeowners.
  6. Beat the quota before dawn. If you're caught you lose a heart and the whole sack. Meet the night's quota to unlock the next night.

Questions

Is Mitts free?

Yes. It's free to play at playmitts.com, with no ads, no purchases, no account and no download.

Can I play it on my phone?

Yes, it's made for phones. Open playmitts.com in your phone's browser. You can add it to your home screen to play full screen. It also plays on a computer with the keyboard.

Is it like Untitled Goose Game?

Both are about sneaking around a neighborhood, but Mitts is quick: a night lasts about 75 seconds, and the tension comes from greed. Every extra item pays more and slows you down, so the question is always whether to grab one more bin or run for home.

What is the Daily Heist?

A new street every day, the same for everyone. You get one scored try, then share your result and compare with friends.

How long is it?

Each night is about 75 seconds. The campaign is 15 nights, then the endless Night Shift, plus a new daily street every day.

Who made Mitts?

One person making their first game, with a team of AI agents as designer, engineer, artists and playtester. Mitts' portraits were made with an AI image generator; everything else on screen is drawn by the game's own code. It launched on 24 October 2026.

Does it save my progress? What does it collect?

Progress is saved on your device, in the browser; there are no accounts. The game counts anonymous events (such as a night finished) with no IDs and no IP addresses, and you can turn that off under How to play → Privacy.
